Land clearing for development is having a huge impact on our environment. Habitat which was a haven for our wildlife is no longer there. In most cases birds would have been nesting in the same area for years. Nesting sites are becoming more scarce and wildlife is being forced to range further into the suburbs for food making them vulnerable and causing overcrowding. The number of birds which would not normally be seen in the suburbs are increasing. It is fast becoming a case of survival of the fittest (and biggest). One can only imagine what it is like for them when they find their homes are gone forever.
