Western Australian BottlebrushENJOY BIRDS IN YOUR GARDEN THE NATURAL WAY!

GO NATIVE!

There's nothing more pleasurable than encouraging native birds into your garden. Of course there is always the temptation to feed them but! There is such an easy solution! Plant native trees and shrubs!

Not only will the birds come into your garden naturally, you will be supplying a food source which is vanishing at a rapid rate due to land clearing and development. There is also the added bonus of cutting down on water usage.

The following are reasons why wildlife should not be fed:

IMPACTS OF UNCONTROLLED FEEDING OF WILDLIFE

>Overfeeding can occur resulting in dependency on handouts
>A false sense of regular food supply can lead to unnatural increases in birds
>Natural hunting and foraging abilities can be eroded and replaced by scavenging
>Young birds can pick up inappropriate habits from adult birds
>Birds may accept poor quality food or other objects which can cause illness, inadequate nutrition or death
>Social behaviour can be substantially altered
>It encourages birds to approach humans or locations where injury or death may result accidentally or maliciously
>The birds may be regarded as pests and lead to resentment and retaliation by members of the public
>Harmful diseases may be transferred from one bird to another through large concentration of birds

PLEASE DO NOT FEED SICK, INJURED OR ORPHANED WILDLIFE MILK, ALCOHOL OR BREAD
