I am an earth person. I embrace peace and harmony. My spirit is intrinsically entwined with the natural beauty of the earth and the creatures who dwell upon it.

I feel sadness at mankind’s quest for power and greed for the earth is slowly dying because of it. The time will come when the price will be paid for the destruction - and in the end there will be nothing.

Future generations will never see the beauty of a sunrise or experience the pure joy of watching dolphins at play. They will never see the majesty of the eagle as it soars to lofty heights, nor will they see the absolute power of a thunderstorm or feel the raindrops as they gently fall. They will never feel the breeze caress their hair as tenderly as a mothers’ hands with love, they will never be able to roam the wide open spaces or climb a mountain, one day it simply will not be there.

The time will come when we will see what we are doing to this earth and it will be too late. There is no more time for procrastination nor is there time to say that it will not happen. Our earth is struggling to maintain the balance it once had, for it is we humans who are changing the natural order of things.

By destroying the rain forests, clearing the land, dumping our waste into the oceans and rivers and into this beautiful earth we are causing this earth to die. We are the perpetrators. What we once had we will never have again. We are destroying the future of generations to come. We are no longer caretakers but takers and we no longer give back what we have taken. 

Let us teach our children and our children’s children to love the beauty of this earth, to cherish it and to become one with it. Let them see the sunsets with their own eyes not with a story which is but a memory. Let them see the ocean, an awesome expanse which sustains so much life including our own. Let them see the dolphins and whales at play. Let them hug a tree or watch a rosebud grow and blossom - it is magic. Let them watch a lightning storm, the power it possesses but also to see its creations of light across the darkened sky with the thunderheads blossoming and billowing on the wind. Let them see the stars, like glistening jewels in the night sky, let them see one fall and let them make a wish.

It is our responsibility as inhabitants of this earth to heal the hurt that has been done. We must make it right. The future of our earth is in our hands. We have the power.
